Be sure that you have a big enough tent for everyone that’s going to need it for shelter at night. This will allow you to sleep more comfortably and get up easier during the night when you need to use the bathroom.

If you’re camping with kids, try a “jungle breakfast”. Tie to the trees small boxes of cereal, fruit, and juice boxes. Then when your kids get up, let them search for their food. This makes an interesting diversion for them during the trip.

Duct tape is important to pack because it can be used for a good bit of things. It can help you out if something happens and your tent gets torn somehow. You can fix leaks on inflatable beds, tape up shoes, seal up any bug netting, and a lot more.

No matter if you are going camping alone, or with a huge group, you need to always bring along an emergency kit. Always keep the bare basics with you in the kit, and make sure that you have water purification tablets in it as well. For example, if you are camping in an area that may have poison ivy, make sure you pack hydro-cortisone.
