Camping is an exciting adventure that can let you escape the modern world. You can relax with nature let your worries go. For your next camping trip, take advantage of some of the helpful ideas found in the article below.

Take a lot of sunscreen. This is important to use for protection from the sun while camping. Purchase a sunscreen that will provide you with optimal sun protection. If possible, you may wish to purchase a sunscreen which provides additional protection against biting bugs. This will keep you from putting too many chemicals on your body.

Before you next go camping, make sure that you know how to identify poisonous plants. Poisonous plants sometimes resemble regular harmless plants, so you have to know what to look for. Search the Internet for information on these plants for your safety. This can help you to prepare in advance to avoid any infection.

Make sure you pack some kind of water purification tablets. You might think you’ve packed plenty of clean water, or you might plan to boil all your water, but sometimes unexpected situations arise and your supply is not enough. Moreover, you should experiment with the tablets at home so you know what to expect when using them in the wilderness. It would be bad to grow dehydrated along the way, simply because you found the water unpleasant to drink.

Make sure your children have something to do while camping. If you are camping in the deep woods, far from anything familiar, kids can become bored. In today’s techno society, children may not be accustomed to the great outdoors. Spend a day teaching them what they need to know before you leave for your trip.

Make sure you have a good place to go to the bathroom when you go camping. There is no need for a porta-potty. If you will be using a natural spot, be sure there is uninhabited space to use as your bathroom area. Be sure that you have remembered to pack toilet paper unless you’re planning on using whatever’s available in the wild.

Do your bathroom chores downstream if your camp site is close to a water source. It will help keep the water flowing by your site free of your fluids. It’s a good idea to stay a good 100 yards or so from the campsite for things of this nature; just as a common courtesy.

Remember the old scout motto – be prepared! Even with a perfect plan, things can still go awry. Weather problems, injuries and other unexpected things may occur. Do what you can to prevent any accidents or illnesses and bring what you need to treat it if it does happen.

Make sure to pack extra food and clothes with you. It is best to have extra food and clothing should an emergency arise. You need to be prepared in case you have to stay longer or bad weather messes up some of your food.

Shower Curtain

Instead of buying an expensive tarp, you can use a shower curtain you planned to discard. It can also be used for a washing area or cooking area base since you can control the run-off. Instead of throwing a shower curtain in the trash, clean it and use it for camping.

Watch your children at all times. Cars always are always coming and going from these sites, so young children may simply and quickly get lost inside the woods. Things happen very quickly and your kids should be supervised.

If possible, incorporate swimming into your camping trip. Many people miss a nice warm shower while camping. By taking a dip in a pool, lake or river, you will have fun and feel clean and refreshed at the same time!

Don’t waste flashlight batteries. It is easy for a flashlight to get turned on accidentally. You can resolve this by putting your batteries in upside down. That way, when you need the flashlight you will have full batteries, instead of having a flashlight where the batteries died on the way to your campsite.

Pillows are a good item to bring to maximize your level of comfort while camping. Regular bed pillows can become damp if the weather is wet or humid. They also take moisture from the air and that makes them grow mildew fast. Camping pillows have a protective coating on them to prevent the absorption of moisture.

Camping can be a perfectly glorious pastime. It enables you to leave the hectic real world and be one with nature. The ideas presented within this article can make your future camping outing a memorable time.
