Pack in excess for your kids when you are going camping. Camping can be messy. Almost every child will want to play in the dirt or mud, constantly. Therefore, you will need to understand that a clean trip is probably out of the question. By packing a few extra changes of clothes, your children can be presentable at dinner. Prior to leaving on your camping adventure, look at the weather forecast in the location your are going to be camping. Dryer lint makes wonderful kindling to start your campfires with. Before you go camping, start saving lint from the dryer’s filter. Keep a simple plastic or ziplock bag near your dryer to make collecting easier. This allows you to just get your kindling and leave when you’re ready.

Don’t wait until nightfall to set up camp. This means a safe parking place for RV campers. When pitching a tent, locate dry and flat ground. You will be able to see the area better before nightfall and become familiar with it. It will also save some time and frustration since you will be able to see better.

Don’t forget to include special pillows made just for camping on your adventure. Your standard pillow that you have at home will not be comfortable if the conditions become humid. The tend to absorb ambient moisture and grow mildew as well. Pillows made especially for camping have a protective outer layer that prohibits moisture absorption.

Duct tape is important to pack because it can be used for a good bit of things. You can use it to repair holes in tents, inflatables, shoes and just about anything else you can think of.

Camping is a great experience, but it requires giving up many modern and comfortable conveniences. Some people find this appealing, while others find it an ordeal.
