How To Get Started In Video Marketing

Written By: External Contributors on November 17, 2015 No Comment

You shouldn’t allow video marketing to intimidate you. All you need is a tripod and quality camera to make videos yourself. You can demonstrate how to use products, show how they are made or whatever you can think of.

As with most things, the more experience you gain in creating videos, the better your end results will be. You should regularly make videos so that people come to expect something new from you when they are on your site. Posting videos often will allow you to broaden your exposure by talking about new topics.

Video marketing gives you a way to keep in contact with your audience. You can even ask your viewers to send in the questions they have about your products. Choose the bast to answer in a weekly response video. If you need to generate some interest, give people a chance to win a free product if they send you a question.

You can edit your videos when they are placed on YouTube so you should use this to your advantage. You can put annotations on a video, for instance. This is very effective at sharing links, coupon codes, or additional information on your products.

Use videos to keep in touch with customers and other people who are interested in your business. You can ask for questions or comments and respond to these in short videos. If possible, offer a prize or incentive to customers whose questions were used in the clip.

Put helpful content in your videos. The quality of your camera is not the deciding factor. If the video has valuable information, people will watch it no matter what the production quality is. However, try to get the best quality video camera you can to make a video of good quality.

Keep your videos relatively short: no more than 10 or 20 minutes. During a product demonstration, for example, you may want to use this much time to fully explore all the features of the product. However, if you’re just advertising or keeping them up to speed, then your videos should be no longer than ten minutes.

If YouTube is where you place your videos, use their editing features. For example, you can instantly add annotations on your videos easily through YouTube. This is a good time to put up a link and put in some information such as contact info.

Optimizing your videos is key. When you are making videos for several websites you should make titles and descriptions for every one. Use targeted keywords. It is easy and important to include contact information.

A big mistake in video marketing is to get caught up in production value. Just because you have a higher production video, does not mean the impact on your bottom line will be greater. Even large companies have used cost-efficient videos to generate a high number of sales.

When you are making a video, do not focus on what it looks like. Many times you will not get a great return on a very large investment. Some of Dell’s best promotions have been made by ordinary employees.

You can create videos to show customers how to use your products. By demonstrating a difficult product, you will solve existing problems as well as prevent others. Customers will see the use of your product and be more likely to purchase it.

Use all the information from your previous video before beginning your new one. Use what you learned from the first video to improve on it with better content and better production values.

Place a screen capture of your company’s website in your videos. This will let viewers see how the website you run works. Another valuable use of screenshots would be in tutorial videos. Just save the screenshot and edit it into your video.

Don’t expect to post a video on YouTube and have the whole world watch it instantly. It is up to you to use social networking and any others channels you have to promote it. People need to know that your video exists to watch it.

Video marketing provides the means to let you market your products and provide usage tutorials. A quick demo of the products features will make consumers believe in its abilities. When they see the product in action they connect with it, and are much more likely to order.
