If you want to increase muscle mass, you need to warm up the right way. Stronger muscles will be more stressed and prone to injury. If you warm up, injuries can be prevented. To warm up correctly, stretch or walk for approximately ten minutes before your workout, then start with a few short, light sets.

If you want to increase muscle mass, you need to warm up the right way. When your muscles become stronger, they’ll experience lots of additional stress making them susceptible to injury. Warming up is the best way to prevent these injuries. Prior to lifting, exercise lightly for about 10 minutes, and follow it up with about 4 light warm-up sets.

If you want to build muscle, you need to eat meat on a regular basis. Eat 1 gram of meat per pound of body weight. Doing this allows your body to hold more protein for muscle growth and improves the chances that you get the muscles you want.

Protein is the foundation of any muscle development diet. Muscles are comprised of protein, so its availability is key to increasing your strength. When you don’t consume enough, your body will have a difficult time increasing muscle mass. Look for proteins that are lean and healthy, and include them in a minimum of two of your meals per day, as well as in daily snacks.

Provide your body with plenty of the right fuel on exercise days. Consume a few extra calories about 60 minutes before you begin your workout. A sufficient calorie intake does not mean eating to excess. You just need to consume enough additional calories on the days you exercise to provide your muscles with nutrition.

Don’t work on enhancing the size of your muscles if you are taking part in a marathon or participating in extreme cardio workouts. While a good cardio workout is key to staying fit, trying to build muscle while doing a lot of cardio is counterproductive. An intensive cardio workout essentially cancels out your attempts to build muscle. When you are trying to build up your muscle mass, concentrate more on your strength exercises and a little less on conditioning.

Don’t bother lifting for more than an hour at a time. After you have worked out for sixty minutes, your body starts to produce a stress hormone called cortisol. Extra cortisol may block testosterone and your efforts at muscle building can be wasted. This can be avoided by working out for no longer than 1 hour continually.

Making sure that you are getting a lot of protein will help you build a lot of muscle. Protein shakes and powdered supplements are some of the most popular ways of boosting your protein intake. They work better after working out and before you go to sleep. You must consume about one shake a day. On the contrary, if gaining mass is also your goal, you should consume as many as three a day.

Do not work out for more than an hour. After an hour of working out, the body will produce cortisol at an increased rate. Cortisol decreases your testosterone levels, which just wastes your efforts towards increasing your muscle mass. For best results, keep your workouts under sixty minutes so that you don’t produce excessive amounts of cortisol.

It is important to stay hydrated when building muscle. If you aren’t keeping yourself hydrated with water properly, then there is a high chance that you will injure yourself or your muscles. Hydration is also a key factor in your ability to increase and maintain muscle mass.

As stated above, bodybuilding isn’t just a function of how much you workout at the gym, or how much dedication you have. You have to approach it in the right manner in order to get results. Apply the above advice to create a bodybuilding routine that will help you gain muscle mass at a rapid pace.
