A common problem is the willingness to sacrifice form for speed. No matter what exercise you are performing, slow down on reps and put your focus on your technique. This will give you better results. Take things slowly, ensuring that you are doing the exercise the right way.

A lot of people fail to use proper technique when lifting weights because they are too focused on speed. Performing your workouts slower takes more control and sheer strength, and will increase the effectiveness of your workout. Be patient, stay focused and complete each rep correctly.

If you want to increase muscle mass, you need to warm up the right way. The stronger your muscles become, the more stress you place on them and the more important it is to warm up to avoid strains and tears. If you spend an adequate amount of time warming up, your risk of injury will decrease. Before you do any serious lifting, lightly exercise for five to ten minutes, and then do three or four light and intermediate warm-up sets.

Change your routine around. Doing the same exercises each day can get static and dull so switch up your routine to keep it interesting. Make sure that you do different exercises and workout different muscles each time you exercise. By keeping your workouts new and different, you will stay interested in and committed to your muscle-building routine.

Always look for new ways to exercise your body and build muscle. Different exercises work on different parts of the body, and can either build muscle mass or tone your muscles. Variety is the key to growth achievement as you work out each of the muscle groups.

If you choose to supplement your muscle-building attempts with creatine, be careful, especially if you use this substance long-term. These supplements can be harmful if you have any sort of kidney issues. They can also cause cramping, heart problems, and even something called muscle compartment syndrome. Teenagers are even more likely to have problems. Be sure you keep your creatine intake at or below suggested safety levels.

Cool down with a short stretching routine to ensure that your muscles start the repair process from a healthy point. Those under forty should spend thirty seconds holding each stretch. Someone over forty should try to stretch for about 60 seconds. By doing this, you can ensure that your exercising will not cause any injury.

Meat products are a good source of protein and help add muscle mass. Consume enough meat to amount to one gram of protein per pound of body weight. This will allow your body to store some of that protein, and stored protein can result in increased muscle mass.

Improving muscle mass is not a matter of gym time or dedication. You must approach your bodybuilding with the right attitude. Use the tips you just read to help you design a weight training program that will get you stronger muscles as quickly as possible.
