Camping out means that you don’t have the modern conveniences of home. Because of this, you need to properly plan your trip out. If you want to have a great experience, read on for tips and advice.

While it may be that there’s enough wood around to keep a fire going for a long time, some of the wood may be wet and cannot burn no matter what you try. It’s always recommended that you bring extra wood and keep it where it won’t get wet.

Dryer lint makes surprisingly good kindling for starting campfires. Start collecting the lint about a month prior to your trip from the filter in your dryer. An easy way to remember to save up your lint is to keep a plastic bag near your dryer as a reminder. You can just go about your business after that.

Before leaving for a trip away, attend a comprehensive first aid tutorial. Undertaking such a task is particularly important if you are going to be camping with children. You will have all of the medical knowledge you will need in case of an accident. You should also do some research. Are there any poisonous snakes, plants or any other things you should know before you head out?

Prior to heading out, be sure you are aware of the forecast for your destination. This can give you an idea of what you will be experiencing on your trip. When you know what the weather will be like beforehand, you can plan more appropriately.

When camping alone or in the company of friends, always bring an emergency kit. Pack an emergency kit that contains basic first aid supplies as well as anything needed for the specific location in which you are camping. Some extra things, like antivenom should be included for specific types of wildlife as well.

Camping can be incredibly fun or incredibly dangerous depending on just one factor: preparation. Be sure you don’t go camping until you are fully prepared with all the supplies you need. If camping at a new location, make sure you investigate the geography, climate, and local wildlife so you are prepared for any dangers.

Make sure you know what’s covered in your medical insurance. Sometimes when you go to a different place, you’ll have to get an additional policy to cover you. This is even more of a factor if you travel to another country to go camping, like Canada. Be ready for any eventuality.

You don’t have to entirely rough it. Bring a little piece of luxury from home. Your favorite candy bar or some prepackaged creamers for your morning coffee are light and simple to bring along. These small treats for yourself can really boost morale.

Try to camp near water, where you can also enjoy swimming. When camping, you might find yourself missing your shower. Swimming is a great way to rinse off and can take the place of your daily shower.

Take along a bandanna or a small towel. You can use that piece of material for many purposes, such as holding a hot pot, cleaning surfaces, etc. There are countless other uses for such items, so try your best to remember to bring a bandanna or a large handkerchief with you.

Bring oranges with you since they are great for snacking and repelling insects. When you finish eating them, save all of your peels and rub them around your body to use as a natural insect repellent.

Camping is a one-of-a-kind experience where you put aside many of your daily comforts to enjoy nature around you. Some people love this, while some don’t. Think through all of your camping trip ideas before you go out on your adventure. This article listed some of them, so make good use of them.
